You’re already helping Barataria just by reading – and thank you for being here!
But if you’d like to keep this going, there are a few more things that you can do to help. The most important is to leave a comment, whether you think I’m an idiot or I’m onto something – I’ve learned a lot of cool things from the comments. The second is to tell your friends what you liked, either in person, by mail, or on a social media site like twitter- referrals keep Barataria growing. Third, if you post a link to me I will reciprocate – if you tell me it’s there! But the array of buttons to the right that looks like campaign ribbons are where you can really make a difference.

The first is the Donate button, which goes directly to PayPal. You don’t have to have an account to send a few bucks my way and keep me (reasonably) solvent. I’ve set this up without ads and minimal overhead, but it still takes time out of my life. If it’s worth something to you, I’d appreciate all the help you can offer to a struggling artist.

Below the Donate button is the RSS feed. If you can subscribe to this, ideally through the google reader, you’ll be able to get updates whenever you want them. Plus, it will help increase our stature.

The next button is for StumbleUpon, which is one of the aggregators. I’m not sure about what it all means, either, but I’ve found some interesting sites there. Look around, you may see more you like.

The next button is for NetworkedBlogs on Facebook. If you’re a Facebook fan, you can use this to connect to all your favorites so that they appear in the news stream along with all your friends. It’s handy.

The next is for PostRank, a service that can help you find interesting posts in a wide variety of blogs. It’s like an RSS reader that ranks the popularity of posts from everywhere. Check it out, you may like it.

Next we have my own Facebook page. If you friend me, I’ll friend you back! I use this to stay connected to friends of all kinds, and I get suggestions for topics all the time through Facebook.

Lastly, we have my twitter feed. I follow every non-spamming human that follows me because I’ve met a lot of interesting people that way. I also post my updates to Barataria 2-3 times a day here.
Thank you again for your support – without readers, there’s no point to writing. I do all of this for you, and I hope that Barataria makes you think. If you can return the favor, we’ll really have something that gets us through difficult times. That’s the real goal here.

I think you are an idiot that’s on to something.
